McColgan Wins Gold Wearing Asics

Scottish superstar runner Eilish McColgan sealed her place in the history books with an incredible win to claim gold at the 10,000m at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham last night. She summoned incredible powers to pass the Kenyan Irene Cheptai in the final brutal lap. Wearing her blue and yellow bespoke Asics running trainers she cruised past to finish first in a new games record. 
After the race she shared an emotional hug with her mum Liz McColgan who had also won gold in 1986 and 1990. As the sun set the Scottish flag was raised to the sound of "Oh Flower of Scotland" and a tearful Eilish savoured the singing of the hugely supportive crowd. she has been plagued by illness and injury this year so the victory was even more sweet. 
McColgan signed a 6 year deal to have Asics as her sponsor in 2019 who incidentally sponsored her mum in her Wold Championship win in Tokyo.
