Spotlight on Kenyan Superstar Sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala

Sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala adidas running shoes
With an infectious smile the Kenyan powerhouse sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala stormed through the 100m men's final to take gold in the Alexander Stadium last week at the Commonwealth Games 2022. Showing you don’t have to have the height of Usain Bolt to deliver the goods. He reminds us of an old school sprinter and is a joy to watch.
Born in 1996 the year Donovan Bailey won the 100m Olympic final and Linford Christie was disqualified the sprinter is now just 26 years old. His incredible speed was first recognised whilst he was playing rugby at the University of Nairobi and he has gone on to post lightning times of 9.77 sec for the 100m. He is also the current African record holder and 2 times African champion. Whilst at University Ferdinand studied chemistry and there is certainly an explosive reaction when he places his adidas running shoes in the starting blocks. He thinks a recently signed sponsorship deal with adidas will propel his career forward. Check out our adidas running trainers, including the excellent adidas runfalcon 2 junior trainers and the lightweight but comfortable adidas Supernova Mens Running Trainers in blue and red. We wish Ferdinand all the best with his sprinting career and hope that one day he obtains Olympic gold status.
