Scot Eilidh Prise wins Norseman Xtreme Triathlon.

Held in Norway, the Norseman Xtreme Triathlon is considered one of the most challenging ultra races on the planet. The race starts with a 3.8K swim through an ice cold fjord followed by a 180K cycle through mountains, mostly uphill reaching 1200m above sea level. If that's not enough they then have to run 42km with a mountain climb to 1800m just to finish them off. Their back up crew must ascend the final mountain with the athlete just in case they keel over from exhaustion. Eilidh qualified for the Norseman by winning the Celtman triathlon in Scotland. Of the original 239 starters only 219 even made it to the end. Whilst it’s called a race, the Norseman is also about survival. The incredibly hardy Scot finished the race in a time of 11 hours 47 minutes which is one of the fastest times in the last 20 years. She said she found it extremely tough. We salute you Eilidh for achieving what most normal athletes would find impossible!
